Endless pool

Iris Kamminga

I, Iris Kamminga (24-06-1993), have been like a fish in water for as long as I can remember. What started, like most, with A-B-C swimming, quickly became rescue swimming until I came into contact with my great love: competitive swimming. Because honestly, diving into the water is the best feeling in the whole world, isn’t it?!

My specialties are breaststroke and butterfly, which I practiced at a high level until I had to have surgery on my elbow due to a bicycle accident. You can probably guess where most of my rehab took place… right in the water. Luckily I was also able to pass on my ‘talent’ to that other Kamminga ;).

During my recovery I still wanted to stay active in the swimming world, so I worked for a while at the Swimgym and coached triathletes, especially in the field of swimming. I did this with great enthusiasm until I went to Africa in 2018, where I climbed Kilimanjaro but also taught African people to swim. I still get a smile on my face when I think about how much fun they had in the water (believe me it was different at the beginning of the lessons). I hope to give you this feeling during the swimming analyzes at Tri-PT studio.
